Resources for teachers to learn how to become get your students involved.

pen pal program

How to participate?

Please email connect@vingo.ngo if you have any additional questions.

What is my time commitment as a teacher?

You will host a 1-hour writing session for your students to write their letters at the beginning of your first semester (end of September and early October), and send all the letters in a group shipment with the provided shipping labels.

We ask that you scan-read the students’ letters before the shipment as we will also scan-read all letters to prevent inappropriate content and language. We also ask that you administer a pre and post survey to determine the effectiveness of our program.

How many letters and how many times can my student write to the professional?

Each student can write one letter per semester to the professional. Since one professional may have multiple letters, we ask for your patience and limit the amount of times the students can write. When your student receives their letters towards the end of the first semester, they can start thinking of questions and things to write about when they come back from the winter holiday.

What is the safety and legal protection of our Penpal?

To prevent any inappropriate content and language, we scan-read every incoming and outgoing letter. However, we ask that you be responsible for your student's and their pen pal's letters.

What will you do with my students' information?

We use your address to send the letters to you in case you can’t come to our writing session. We don’t share your personal information to the professionals.
